Hummingbird performance at SIGGRAPH 2022 in Vancouver

For the SIGGRAPH we developed a stand-alone exhibition platform for Hummingbird capable of supporting external on-location presentations. Our team worked on the augmentation of the interactive experience, software and system updates, videography, optimized server support and overall project animation and interaction improvements. The stand-alone performance was invited for exhibition in the Immersive Pavilion at the SIGGRAPH 2022 on August 8-11 in the Vancouver Convention Center, Canada. The new stand-alone exhibition platform was successfully adapted to SIGGRAPH’s on-site network, audience and space limitations. Each performance consisted of 5 participants with multiple performances per day and all 11 performances were fully booked by the end of opening day.

SIGGRAPH audiences reported that they enjoyed watching/participating in Hummingbird. The majority felt they were part of the story, and appreciated collaborating with other participants inside VR. Many comments were positive: “What a wonderful journey!!”, “it is a wonderful combination of creativity and emrging tech.", “I felt very close as a bird!”, "I love interactive theater, and this was fabulous."
